Description
The 2026 (S) Proof Mayflower Compact Quarter - Silver is a proof quarter struck at the San Francisco Mint, part of the Semiquincentennial Circulating Coins 2026 series. The obverse features two Pilgrims embracing, symbolizing the unity and cooperation among the early settlers who signed the Mayflower Compact in 1620, while the reverse displays the Mayflower ship, the vessel that carried the Pilgrims across the Atlantic — an enduring symbol of courage, faith, and the pursuit of freedom. As a proof issue, this coin was struck multiple times on specially prepared polished planchets using polished dies, producing mirror-like fields and frosted design elements prized by collectors. Designed by Ronald Sanders/Eric David Custer (obverse) / Phebe Hemphill (reverse). Struck at the San Francisco Mint, established during the California Gold Rush and now primarily producing proof and collector coins. Estimated market value ranges from $14 to $28 depending on grade and condition. Struck in 99.9% silver, weighing 5.67 grams, 24.26 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge.
