Description
The 2026 (S) Proof Enduring Liberty Half Dollar - Silver is a proof half dollar struck at the San Francisco Mint, part of the Semiquincentennial Circulating Coins 2026 series. The obverse features the Statue of Liberty, her steadfast gaze looking outward as if toward the future, embodying the enduring promise of American liberty, while the reverse displays Liberty passing her torch, its flame trailing with the momentum of purpose, to a new generation, with the inscription "Knowledge Is the Only Guardian of True Liberty". As a proof issue, this coin was struck multiple times on specially prepared polished planchets using polished dies, producing mirror-like fields and frosted design elements prized by collectors. Designed by Donna Weaver/John McGraw (obverse) / Beth Zaiken/Darla Jackson (reverse). Struck at the San Francisco Mint, established during the California Gold Rush and now primarily producing proof and collector coins. Estimated market value ranges from $30 to $43 depending on grade and condition. Struck in 99.9% silver, weighing 11.34 grams, 30.61 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge.
