The 2025 (S) Proof Native American Dollar is a proof dollar struck at the San Francisco Mint, part of the Sacagawea & Native American Dollars 2000 to Date series. The U.S. Mint reports 418,985 struck. The obverse features Sacagawea carrying her infant son, Jean Baptiste Charbonneau, on her back; the reverse changes every year to honor a Native American contribution. The 2025 Native American Dollar honors Mary Kawena Pukui, a Native Hawaiian scholar, author, hula expert, and educator who preserved Hawaiian language and culture. The reverse includes the inscription "Nana I Ke Kumu" (Look to the Source). As a proof issue, this coin was struck multiple times on specially prepared polished planchets using polished dies, producing mirror-like fields and frosted design elements prized by collectors.
