Description

The 2025 (S) Proof American Silver Eagle is a proof Silver Eagle struck at the San Francisco Mint, part of the American Silver Eagles 1986 to Date series. The U.S. Mint produced 156,656 examples. The obverse features Liberty striding confidently toward the sunrise, draped in the American flag, carrying branches of laurel and oak symbolizing civil and military glory — Adolph Weinman's iconic design adapted from the Walking Liberty Half Dollar, while the reverse displays a heraldic eagle behind a shield, designed by John M. Mercanti — the most reproduced coin image in history (1986-2020) or an eagle in flight carrying an oak branch, the redesigned reverse by Emily Damstra introduced in 2021 (2021+). Designed by Adolph A. Weinman (obverse) / John M. Mercanti (reverse 1986-2020) / Emily Damstra (reverse 2021+). Struck in 99.9% silver, 40.6 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #961426. The American Silver Eagle has been the United States' official silver bullion coin since 1986, containing one troy ounce of .999 fine silver. Key dates include the 1995-W Proof (mintage ~30,125), 1994-P (proof only), and the 2019-S Enhanced Reverse Proof. The transition between Type 1 (Mercanti) and Type 2 (Damstra) reverses in 2021 created strong collector demand.
