About This Coin
The 2024 Roosevelt Dime is a United States dime from the Roosevelt Dimes Clad and Silver Proof 1965 to Date series. The obverse features Franklin D. Roosevelt facing left, honoring the president who championed the March of Dimes, while the reverse displays a torch flanked by olive and oak branches, symbolizing liberty, peace, and strength. Designed by John R. Sinnock. Struck in copper-nickel clad c, with a reeded edge. Produced at the Denver, Philadelphia, and San Francisco Mints. The Roosevelt Dime was introduced in 1946, shortly after President Franklin D. Roosevelt's death, honoring his association with the March of Dimes campaign against polio. The design replaced the Mercury Dime and was struck in 90% silver through 1964. Silver Roosevelt Dimes (1946-1964) are collected for both numismatic interest and silver content. Full Bands (FB) and Full Torch (FT) designations add premium value. Proof issues from 1950-1964 are popular.
