Description
The 2024 (P) Harriet Tubman Dollar is a commemorative dollar struck at the Philadelphia Mint. The Philadelphia Mint struck 7,301 uncirculated Harriet Tubman dollars dated 2024. Authorized to honor Harriet Tubman, who escaped slavery in 1849 and became a conductor on the Underground Railroad, making approximately 13 missions to rescue about 70 enslaved people. The obverse features Harriet Tubman offering her hand to the viewer, as if reaching out to guide someone to freedom, while the reverse displays silhouettes crossing a bridge formed by clasped arms and hands, with the Big Dipper constellation pointing to the North Star. Designed by Beth Zaiken, Phebe Hemphill and Craig A. Campbell. Struck in 99.9% silver, weighing 26.73 grams, 38.1 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #935787.
