The U.S. Mint sold 25,236 of these half dollars: 6,970 uncirculated coins from Denver and 18,266 proofs from San Francisco, the proofs including 4,442 sold in three-coin proof sets. The obverse features designs varying by commemorative issue and the reverse displays designs varying by commemorative issue.
