The 2024 (D) Greatest Generation Commemorative Half Dollar is a commemorative half dollar struck at the Denver Mint. The Denver Mint struck 8,433 uncirculated Greatest Generation half dollars dated 2024. Part of the Greatest Generation three-coin program, this half dollar connects the wartime Victory Medal imagery to the modern memorial. The obverse features a reimagining of the figure of Liberation from the WWII Victory Medal, while the reverse displays the National WWII Memorial from the point of view of a person walking up a ramp to one of the towers. Designed by Elana Hagler and Craig A. Campbell (obverse), Matt Swaim and John P. McGraw (reverse). Struck in copper-nickel clad copper, weighing 11.34 grams, 30.6 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #936834.
