2022 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - SKH-1c-2022-05 Spiked Head
Error
Description
SKH-1c-2022-05 is a 2022 spiked head variety. For collectors focused on recent-date varieties, 2022 cents offer a practical advantage: they are readily available in circulation and bank-wrapped rolls, unlike older dates that may require purchasing from dealers. Cherry-picking — examining coins one by one to identify varieties — is productive when the source material is fresh and unsearched, and 2022 cents meet that criterion. The Lincoln Shield Cent entered its thirteenth year of production in 2022, and the obverse portrait marked its 113th anniversary of continuous use. Philadelphia continued striking these cents without a mintmark on the standard copper-plated zinc planchet. Cuds on Coins catalogs this as the fifth in the 2022 sequence.
