Description

Part of the America the Beautiful Quarters 2010-2021 series, the 2020 (W) American Samoa National Park V75 Quarter is a quarter from the West Point Mint. The West Point Mint struck 2,000,000 American Samoa quarters dated 2020. The obverse features George Washington facing left, based on a 1786 bust by Jean-Antoine Houdon and the reverse displays unique designs featuring national parks and sites from each state and territory. The reverse shows a mother Samoan fruit bat and her pup hanging from a branch. Inscriptions: NATIONAL PARK, AMERICAN SAMOA, 2020 and E PLURIBUS UNUM. National Park of American Samoa (AS), Weir Farm (CT), Salt River Bay (VI), Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller (VT), and Tallgrass Prairie (KS) were featured. The final full year of the program, with pandemic-related production adjustments. Coined at the West Point Mint, which transitioned from bullion depository to a dedicated production facility for commemorative and investment-grade coins. Estimated market value ranges from $0.25 to $30 depending on grade and condition. Struck in 75% copper, 25% nickel over a pure copper center, weighing 5.67 grams, 24.3 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #813458.
