Description

The 2019 (W) Reverse Proof Silver Eagle is a proof Silver Eagle struck at the West Point Mint, part of the American Silver Eagles 1986 to Date series. The U.S. Mint sold 99,675 enhanced reverse proof Silver Eagles dated 2019, all in its own Pride of Two Nations sets; the coins in the Royal Canadian Mint's version of the set are not counted. The obverse features Liberty striding confidently toward the sunrise, draped in the American flag, carrying branches of laurel and oak symbolizing civil and military glory — Adolph Weinman's design adapted from the Walking Liberty Half Dollar and the reverse displays a heraldic eagle behind a shield, designed by John M. Mercanti. The 2019-S Enhanced Reverse Proof was limited to 30,000 coins. As a proof issue, this coin was struck multiple times on specially prepared polished planchets using polished dies, producing mirror-like fields and frosted design elements. Struck at the West Point Mint, originally a bullion depository that became a full coin production facility, specializing in commemorative and bullion issues. Struck in .999 fine silver, weighing 31.1 grams, 40.6 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #772903.
