Description
The 2019 (W) Proof Lincoln Shield Cent is a proof cent struck at the West Point Mint, part of the Lincoln Shield Cents 2010 to Date series. The obverse features Abraham Lincoln facing right and the reverse displays a Union shield with a scroll banner reading ONE CENT, symbolizing Lincoln's preservation of the Union. A modern issue from an era of rotating coin designs, collector-focused programs, and renewed interest in numismatic artistry. As a proof issue, this coin was struck multiple times on specially prepared polished planchets using polished dies, producing mirror-like fields and frosted design elements prized by collectors.
