The West Point Mint struck 2,929 uncirculated American Legion five-dollar gold coins dated 2019. The gold coin in the American Legion centennial program, this $5 piece references the organization's Parisian origins with the Eiffel Tower alongside its emblem. The obverse features geometric elements of the American Legion emblem with the Eiffel Tower and V for victory, representing the founding in Paris in 1919, while the reverse displays a soaring eagle, symbolizing the nation during war and peace. Designed by Chris Costello/Paul C. Balan. Struck in 90% gold, 6% silver and 4% copper, weighing 8.36 grams, 21.6 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #710354.
