Description
The 2018 (P) Proof WWI Centennial Dollar is a proof cent struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Modern Commemorative Dollars (1982-Date) series. The Philadelphia Mint struck 127,867 proof World War I Centennial dollars dated 2018. The obverse shows a soldier holding his rifle and the reverse poppies in barbed wire. A modern issue from an era of rotating coin designs, collector-focused programs, and renewed interest in numismatic artistry. As a proof issue, this coin was struck multiple times on specially prepared polished planchets using polished dies, producing mirror-like fields and frosted design elements. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 26.73 grams, 38.1 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #659610.
