The 2017 (S) Lincoln Shield Cent - Enhanced Uncirculated is an enhanced uncirculated cent struck at the San Francisco Mint, part of the Lincoln Shield Cents 2010 to Date series. The San Francisco Mint struck 223,310 Enhanced Uncirculated cents dated 2017. The obverse features Abraham Lincoln facing right and the reverse displays a Union shield with a scroll banner reading ONE CENT, symbolizing Lincoln's preservation of the Union. A modern issue from an era of rotating coin designs, collector-focused programs, and renewed interest in numismatic artistry. This enhanced uncirculated coin features multiple finish techniques applied to different areas of the design, combining proof, frosted, and standard finishes to create a unique multi-textured appearance. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, established during the California Gold Rush and now primarily producing proof and collector coins.
