Description
The 2016 (W) 100th Anniversary Gold Dime is a special strike gold dime struck at the West Point Mint, part of the Centennial Series 2016 series. The West Point Mint struck 124,885 of these gold dimes dated 2016. The obverse features Liberty in a winged cap and the reverse displays a fasces with an olive branch, with AU 24K and 1/10 OZ. added beside it. Designed by Adolph Alexander Weinman. Struck in 99.99% gold, weighing 3.11 grams, 16.5 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #597222. The 2016 Centennial Gold Coin Series marked the 100th anniversary of three 1916 coin designs — the Mercury Dime, Standing Liberty Quarter, and Walking Liberty Half Dollar — by reproducing them in .9999 fine gold at 1/10 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/2 oz respectively.
