Description

The 2016 (W) 100th Anniversary Gold Dime is a special strike cent struck at the West Point Mint, part of the Centennial Series 2016 series. The U.S. Mint produced 124,885 examples. The obverse features classic coin designs faithfully reproduced in gold: Mercury Dime, Standing Liberty Quarter, and Walking Liberty Half Dollar, while the reverse displays classic reverse designs reproduced in gold. Designed by Adolph Alexander Weinman. Struck in 99.99% gold, weighing 3.11 grams, 16.5 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #597222. The 2016 Centennial Gold Coin Series celebrated the 100th anniversary of three beloved 1916 coin designs — the Mercury Dime, Standing Liberty Quarter, and Walking Liberty Half Dollar — by reproducing them in .9999 fine gold at 1/10 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/2 oz respectively.. Extremely popular with collectors who value classic American coin artistry. These are among the most sought-after modern U.S. Mint products.
