The 2013 (W) Proof Girl Scouts 100th Anniversary Dollar is a proof dollar struck at the West Point Mint, part of the Modern Commemorative Dollars (1982-Date) series. The West Point Mint struck 86,355 proof Girl Scouts of the USA Centennial dollars dated 2013. The obverse shows three Girl Scouts of different ages and the reverse the trefoil emblem. A modern issue from an era of rotating coin designs, collector-focused programs, and renewed interest in numismatic artistry. As a proof issue, this coin was struck multiple times on specially prepared polished planchets using polished dies, producing mirror-like fields and frosted design elements. Struck at the West Point Mint, originally a bullion depository that became a full coin production facility, specializing in commemorative and bullion issues.
