Description
Part of the Modern Commemorative Dollars (1982-Date) series, the 2013 (W) 5-Star Generals Commemorative Dollar is a dollar from the West Point Mint. The West Point Mint struck 34,638 uncirculated 5-Star Generals dollars dated 2013. The obverse shows George C. Marshall and Dwight D. Eisenhower and the reverse the lamp emblem of the Command and General Staff College. A modern issue from an era of rotating coin designs, collector-focused programs, and renewed interest in numismatic artistry. West Point's facility evolved from a bullion storage depot into a key coin production center, now responsible for many commemorative and precious-metal issues. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 26.73 grams, 38.1 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #517651.
