Description

The 2013 (P) Kennedy Half Dollar is a half dollar produced at the Philadelphia Mint as part of the Kennedy Half Dollars Clad and Silver Proof 1971 to Date series. The U.S. Mint produced 5 million examples, making this the higher-mintage of the two mint variants, representing 52% of production. The obverse features John F. Kennedy facing left, based on the presidential medal by Gilroy Roberts and the reverse displays the Presidential Seal — a heraldic eagle with shield, olive branch, and arrows. A modern issue from an era of rotating coin designs, collector-focused programs, and renewed interest in numismatic artistry. Struck at the original U.S. Mint facility, in continuous operation since 1792. Estimated market value ranges from $1 to $4 depending on grade and condition. Struck in 75% copper, 25% nickel over a pure copper center, weighing 11.3 grams, 30.61 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #518719.
