The 2011 (P) Medal of Honor Commemorative Five Dollar Gold is a commemorative five-dollar gold coin struck at the Philadelphia Mint. The Philadelphia Mint struck 8,233 uncirculated Medal of Honor five-dollar gold coins dated 2011. The gold coin in the Medal of Honor program, this $5 piece features the Navy's version of the medal, the oldest of the three designs. The obverse features the Navy version of the Medal of Honor in detailed relief, while the reverse displays Minerva holding a Union flag and a shield, flanked by a Civil War cannon. Designed by Joseph Menna/Joel Iskowitz. Struck in 90% gold and 10% alloy, weighing 8.36 grams, 21.6 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #507307.
