Description
The 2010 (D) Native American Dollar - Position A is a dollar produced at the Denver Mint as part of the Sacagawea & Native American Dollars 2000 to Date series. The U.S. Mint produced 48.7 million examples, making this ranked 3rd of 4 mint variants by mintage, with 30% of production. The obverse features Sacagawea carrying her infant son Jean Baptiste Crapeau on her back and the reverse displays rotating designs honoring Native American contributions to the United States. The 2010 Native American Dollar celebrates the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) Confederacy and its Great Law of Peace, a democratic governance model that influenced the U.S. Constitution. The reverse depicts the Hiawatha Belt with five arrows bound together representing the five original nations. First year of the annual reverse rotation.
