Description
The 2009 (P) Satin Finish Kennedy Half Dollar is a special strike half dollar struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Kennedy Half Dollars Clad and Silver Proof 1971 to Date series. The U.S. Mint produced 784,614 examples, making this the higher-mintage of the two mint variants, representing 21% of production. The obverse features John F. Kennedy facing left, based on the presidential medal by Gilroy Roberts and the reverse displays the Presidential Seal — a heraldic eagle with shield, olive branch, and arrows. A modern issue from an era of rotating coin designs, collector-focused programs, and renewed interest in numismatic artistry.
