Description

The 2008 (P) American Eagle Ten Dollar Gold is a Gold Eagle from the Philadelphia Mint, belonging to the American Eagle Ten Dollar Gold 1986 to Date series. The Mint struck 70,000 of these bullion coins dated 2008, by the Mint's figures. Saint-Gaudens's Liberty from the 1907 double eagle, carrying a torch and an olive branch, fills the obverse; Miley Busiek's reverse shows a male eagle with an olive branch flying above a nest where a female eagle sits with her young. A modern issue from an era of rotating coin designs, collector-focused programs, and renewed interest in numismatic artistry. Struck in 91.67% gold, 3% silver, 5.33% copper, weighing 8.48 grams, 22 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #393098.
