Description
The 2007 (W) Proof American Eagle Twenty Five Dollar Platinum is a proof platinum coin struck at the West Point Mint, part of the American Eagle Twenty Five Dollar Platinum 1997 to Date series. With a mintage of just 6,017, this is a rare issue sought by specialists. The obverse features the Statue of Liberty facing forward, while the reverse displays an eagle soaring over the sunrise. Designed by John M. Mercanti. Struck in 99.95% platinum, weighing 7.78 grams, 22 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #149575. The quarter-ounce American Platinum Eagle contains 1/4 troy ounce of .9995 fine platinum. Produced in bullion format from 1997 to 2008. Low-mintage years are particularly collectible.
