Description
The 2007 (W) Burnished American Eagle Twenty Five Dollar Platinum is a special strike platinum coin struck at the West Point Mint, part of the American Eagle Twenty Five Dollar Platinum 1997 to Date series. With a mintage of just 3,690, this is a rare issue sought by specialists. The obverse features the Statue of Liberty facing forward, while the reverse displays an eagle soaring over the sunrise. Designed by John M. Mercanti/Thomas D. Rogers. Struck in 99.95% platinum, weighing 7.78 grams, 22 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #150435. The quarter-ounce American Platinum Eagle contains 1/4 troy ounce of .9995 fine platinum. Produced in bullion format from 1997 to 2008. Low-mintage years are particularly collectible.
