Description

The 2007 (W) Proof American Eagle One Hundred Dollar Platinum - Frosted FREEDOM is a proof platinum coin struck at the West Point Mint, part of the American Eagle One Hundred Dollar Platinum 1997 to Date series. With a mintage of only 12, this is an extremely rare issue. The obverse features the Statue of Liberty facing forward (1997-2017), then rotating designs, while the reverse displays an eagle soaring over the sunrise (1997 bullion), with proof versions featuring annually rotating designs based on Constitutional and patriotic themes. Designed by John M. Mercanti/Tom Cleveland. Struck in 99.95% platinum, weighing 31.11 grams, 32.7 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #506623. The American Platinum Eagle has been the official platinum bullion coin of the United States since 1997. The annually changing proof reverses create a unique collecting challenge. One troy ounce of .9995 fine platinum. Low mintages across the series create strong collector demand.
