Description
The 2006 (P) Satin Finish Kennedy Half Dollar is a special strike half dollar struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Kennedy Half Dollars Clad and Silver Proof 1971 to Date series. The U.S. Mint produced 847,361 examples, making this the lowest mintage among 6 mint variants, representing only 9% of total production. The obverse features John F. Kennedy facing left, based on the presidential medal by Gilroy Roberts and the reverse displays the Presidential Seal — a heraldic eagle with shield, olive branch, and arrows. A modern issue from an era of rotating coin designs, collector-focused programs, and renewed interest in numismatic artistry.
