Description
The 2006 (P) Franklin-Founding Father Dollar is a commemorative dollar struck at the Philadelphia Mint. The Philadelphia Mint struck 64,014 uncirculated Benjamin Franklin Founding Father dollars dated 2006. One of two silver dollars issued in 2006 to mark the 300th anniversary of Benjamin Franklin's birth, this coin depicts Franklin as a Founding Father and elder statesman. The obverse features a portrait of an older Benjamin Franklin as a statesman and Founding Father, with his signature reproduced below, while the reverse displays a 1776 Continental Currency dollar design that Franklin created for the fledgling country. Designed by Don Everhart/Donna Weaver. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 26.73 grams, 38.1 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #21009.
