Description

The 2006 (D) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Satin Finish is a special strike cent struck at the Denver Mint, part of the Lincoln Memorial Cents 1959-2008 series. With a mintage of 847,361, this is an extremely rare issue — the lowest mintage among 3 mint variants, representing only 18% of total production. The obverse features Abraham Lincoln facing right and the reverse displays the Lincoln Memorial building in Washington, D.C.. Satin Finish cents continued in Mint Sets. Standard production from both facilities. Struck at the Denver Mint, established in 1906 from an earlier assay office that processed Colorado gold rush metal. Struck in copper-plated zinc, weighing 2.5 grams, 19 mm in diameter, with a plain edge. Cataloged as PCGS #893197.
