Earliest documented spiked head for the 2005 Philadelphia Mint Roosevelt Dime, SKH-10c-2005P-01 was cataloged by Cuds on Coins on March 26, 2017 — predating the companion entry SKH-10c-2005P-02 by over seven years and establishing the initial spiked head record for this date. The 2005-P dime was produced during the peak years of the 50 State Quarters program, when the Philadelphia Mint's production capacity was distributed across multiple actively changing denominations — Kansas, Minnesota, Oregon, West Virginia, and California all received their State Quarter designs that year. Despite this production complexity, Roosevelt Dime striking continued on standard copper-nickel clad planchets, and obverse dies still cracked in service.
