Description

The 2005 (P) American Eagle Ten Dollar Gold, struck at the Philadelphia Mint, is part of the American Eagle Ten Dollar Gold 1986 to Date collection. The Mint struck 72,015 of these bullion coins dated 2005, by the Mint's figures. Saint-Gaudens's Liberty from the 1907 double eagle, carrying a torch and an olive branch, fills the obverse; Miley Busiek's reverse shows a male eagle with an olive branch flying above a nest where a female eagle sits with her young. A modern issue from an era of rotating coin designs, collector-focused programs, and renewed interest in numismatic artistry. Struck in 91.67% gold, 3% silver, 5.33% copper, weighing 8.48 grams, 22 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #9977.
