Description
The 2003 (W) Proof First Flight Centennial Commemorative Ten Dollar Gold is a proof cent struck at the West Point Mint, part of the Modern Commemorative Ten Dollar Gold (1984-2003) series. With a mintage of 21,676, this is a scarce issue. The obverse features designs varying by commemorative issue, while the reverse displays designs varying by commemorative issue. Designed by Donna Weaver/Norman E. Nemeth. Struck in 90% gold, 10% copper, weighing 16.72 grams, 26.92 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #921003. Modern commemorative ten-dollar gold coins have been produced for select programs since 1984, struck in higher gold content than the five-dollar issues.. Extremely limited production makes these among the most exclusive modern U.S. commemoratives.
