The 2003 (P) American Eagle One Hundred Dollar Platinum, struck at the Philadelphia Mint, is part of the American Eagle One Hundred Dollar Platinum 1997 to Date collection. With a mintage of 8,007, this is a rare issue — the lower-mintage of the two mint variants. The obverse features the Statue of Liberty facing forward (1997-2017), then rotating designs and the reverse displays an eagle soaring over the sunrise (1997 bullion), with proof versions featuring annually rotating designs based on Constitutional and patriotic themes. A modern issue from an era of rotating coin designs, collector-focused programs, and renewed interest in numismatic artistry.
