CU-25c-2002P-01R(OH) Rim Cud
Error
Description
First reverse rim cud for the 2002 Philadelphia Ohio State Quarter, where a section of the die rim fractured and separated, leaving a cavity that filled with metal under striking pressure. Ohio was the seventeenth state honored in the 50 State Quarters program, with Donna Weaver's reverse depicting an astronaut, the Wright Flyer, and the state outline. Philadelphia struck approximately 217 million Ohio quarters in 2002, driving hundreds of dies through their full service life. Cataloged by Cuds on Coins with no additional cross-references. Rim cuds on State Quarters attract both die break specialists and state design enthusiasts seeking unusual examples.
