Description
The 1996 (D) Atlanta Centennial Olympic Games Rowing Dollar, struck at the Denver Mint, is part of the Modern Commemorative Dollars (1982-Date) collection. The Denver Mint struck 16,921 uncirculated Atlanta Olympic Rowing dollars dated 1996. The obverse shows rowers and the reverse the torch logo of the Atlanta organizing committee, shared by the four 1996 Olympic dollars. Denver's mint evolved from a frontier assay office into one of the nation's primary coin production facilities, opening in 1906. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 26.73 grams, 38.1 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #9728.
