Description

The 1995 (D) Atlanta Centennial Olympic Games Gymnastics Dollar is a cent produced at the Denver Mint as part of the Modern Commemorative Dollars (1982-Date) series. With a mintage of 42,497, this is a scarce issue — the lower-mintage of the two mint variants. The obverse features designs varying by commemorative issue, authorized by Congress to honor significant American events, people, and institutions and the reverse displays designs varying by commemorative issue. Struck after the transition from silver to clad coinage, as the Mint adapted to modern production methods and record-breaking mintages.
