Description
The 1994 (W) Vietnam Dollar is a commemorative dollar struck at the West Point Mint. The West Point Mint struck 57,290 uncirculated Vietnam Veterans Memorial dollars dated 1994. Authorized to commemorate the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., designed by Maya Lin and dedicated in 1982. The obverse features a section of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall with an outstretched hand touching a name, the Washington Monument and a tree visible in the background, while the reverse displays three military service medals from the Vietnam era — the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. Designed by John M. Mercanti/Thomas D. Rogers. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 26.73 grams, 38.1 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #9692.
