Description

Five documented rim cuds for the 1994 Philadelphia Mint Washington Quarter indicate that the die pairs used for this date experienced a notable rate of rim failure. A rim cud represents the loss of part of the die's rim gutter: on the coin it appears as a raised interruption in the design rim that tracks the rim's course.
