Description
The 1993 (P) Jefferson Dollar is a commemorative dollar struck at the Philadelphia Mint. The Philadelphia Mint struck 266,927 uncirculated Thomas Jefferson 250th Anniversary dollars dated 1993. Authorized to commemorate the 250th anniversary of Thomas Jefferson's birth in 1743, this dollar honors the third President, principal author of the Declaration of Independence, and designer of Monticello. The obverse features a profile bust of Thomas Jefferson facing left, with the inscription 'Architect of Democracy', while the reverse displays Monticello, Jefferson's Virginia estate, in detailed architectural rendering. Designed by T. James Ferrell. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 26.73 grams, 38.1 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #9688.
