Description
The 1992 (D) Columbus Commemorative Half Dollar is a half dollar produced at the Denver Mint as part of the Modern Commemorative Half Dollars (1982-Date) series. The U.S. Mint produced 135,702 examples. The obverse features designs varying by commemorative issue, while the reverse displays designs varying by commemorative issue. Designed by T. James Ferrell/Thomas D. Rogers. Struck in 75% copper, 25% nickel over a pure copper center, weighing 11.34 grams, 30.6 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #9662. Modern commemorative half dollars are struck in copper-nickel clad composition and honor American events and figures. Lower mintages compared to circulating issues. Available in proof and uncirculated finishes.
