Description

The 1991 (D) Korean War Memorial Commemorative Dollar is a dollar produced at the Denver Mint as part of the Modern Commemorative Dollars (1982-Date) series. The U.S. Mint produced 213,049 examples. The obverse features designs varying by commemorative issue, authorized by Congress to honor significant American events, people, and institutions, while the reverse displays designs varying by commemorative issue. Designed by John M. Mercanti/T. James Ferrell. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 26.73 grams, 38.1 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #9652. The modern commemorative coin program was revived in 1982 after a 28-year hiatus. Over 80 different silver dollar commemoratives have been issued. Proof and uncirculated versions are produced each year. Low-mintage issues and popular subjects command the highest premiums.
