The 1990 (S) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Proof No S is a proof cent struck at the San Francisco Mint, part of the Lincoln Memorial Cents 1959-2008 series. The 3.3 million figure is every 1990 proof cent; the No S pieces are a small, unrecorded fraction of it. The obverse features Abraham Lincoln facing right and the reverse displays the Lincoln Memorial building in Washington, D.C.. The 1990 "No S" Proof is a famous modern error — proof cents missing the San Francisco mintmark. As a proof issue, this coin was struck multiple times on specially prepared polished planchets using polished dies, producing mirror-like fields and frosted design elements prized by collectors. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, established during the California Gold Rush and now primarily producing proof and collector coins. Struck in copper-plated zinc, weighing 2.5 grams, 19.05 mm in diameter, with a plain edge. Cataloged as PCGS #93506.
