Description
A half dollar from the Denver Mint, the 1989 (D) Congressional Commemorative Half Dollar belongs to the Modern Commemorative Half Dollars (1982-Date) series. The U.S. Mint produced 163,753 examples, making this the lower-mintage of the two mint variants. The obverse features designs varying by commemorative issue and the reverse displays designs varying by commemorative issue. Struck after the transition from silver to clad coinage, as the Mint adapted to modern production methods and record-breaking mintages.
