The 1988 (W) Seoul Olympiad Commemorative Five Dollar Gold, struck at the West Point Mint, is part of the Modern Commemorative Five Dollar Gold (1984-Date) collection. The West Point Mint struck 62,913 uncirculated Seoul Olympic five-dollar gold coins dated 1988. The obverse features Nike, goddess of victory, wearing an olive wreath, and the reverse displays a stylized Olympic flame below the U.S. Olympic logo. Coined at the West Point Mint, which transitioned from bullion depository to a dedicated production facility for commemorative and investment-grade coins. Struck in 90% gold and 10% alloy, weighing 8.36 grams, 21.6 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #9630.
