The final entry in the entire 1982-P subtype-specific cud census, CU-1c-1982-70 (SD) on the Bronze Small Date at 3.1 grams closes out the most complex die break numbering system for any single year in Lincoln cent history. Seventy subtype-specific census entries — spanning Bronze and Zinc compositions, Large Date and Small Date die varieties, interior cuds and rim cuds, cross-referenced varieties and unverified discoveries — constitute a documentation achievement without parallel in the denomination's numismatic record. That the final entry falls on the Bronze Small Date is a fitting bookend: the 95% copper alloy with compact date numerals represents one of the scarcest 1982 Philadelphia configurations, and its appearance as a single entry without a zinc counterpart suggests this die break was discovered on a specimen whose alloy and date variety combination made it inherently uncommon.
