Description
Part of the Lincoln Memorial Cents 1959-2008 series, the 1981 (D) Lincoln Memorial Cent is a cent from the Denver Mint. The obverse features Abraham Lincoln facing right and the reverse displays the Lincoln Memorial building in Washington, D.C. Standard production year. The final year before the 1982 change from brass to copper-plated zinc. Denver's mint evolved from a frontier assay office into one of the nation's primary coin production facilities, opening in 1906. Estimated market value ranges from $0.02 to $1 depending on grade and condition. Struck in 95% copper, 5% zinc, weighing 3.11 grams, 19.05 mm in diameter, with a plain edge. Cataloged as PCGS #3035.
