Description
The (1979) Dollar Pattern - J-2175 is an eleven-sided copper-nickel clad piece the Mint made in 1979 for vending machine makers. USPatterns.com describes the pieces as made at the Mint to let vending machine manufacturers prepare for the eleven-sided Susan B. Anthony dollar, and counts about a dozen in copper-nickel clad. The nickel piece is J-2176; USPatterns.com notes two possible varieties, one with a raised center, but gives them no separate numbers. NGC lists it as (1979) J-2175 $1, and PCGS as (1979) $1 J-2175 (PCGS #62301).
