Description
The 1958 Proof Roosevelt Dime is a proof dime struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Roosevelt Silver Dimes 1946-1964 series. Total mintage reached 875,652. The obverse features Franklin D. Roosevelt facing left, honoring the president who championed the March of Dimes, while the reverse displays a torch flanked by olive and oak branches, symbolizing liberty, peace, and strength. Designed by John R. Sinnock. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 2.5 grams, 17.9 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #5233. The Roosevelt Dime was introduced in 1946, shortly after President Franklin D. Silver Roosevelt Dimes (1946-1964) are collected for both numismatic interest and silver content. Full Bands (FB) and Full Torch (FT) designations add premium value. Proof issues from 1950-1964 are popular.
