The 1956 Roosevelt Dime is a dime from the Philadelphia Mint, belonging to the Roosevelt Silver Dimes 1946-1964 series. The Philadelphia Mint struck 108,640,000 dimes dated 1956. The obverse features Franklin D. Roosevelt facing left, honoring the president who championed the March of Dimes and the reverse displays a torch flanked by olive and oak branches, symbolizing liberty, peace, and strength. Minted during the post-war economic boom, the final era of silver circulating coinage in the United States before the Coinage Act of 1965.
