Description
The 1945 (S) Philippine Five Centavos is a cent produced at the San Francisco Mint as part of the Philippines Five Centavos 1903-1945 series. Total mintage reached 101.1 million. The obverse features a male figure seated beside a hammer and anvil, while the reverse displays an eagle above a shield. Designed by Melecio Figueroa. Struck in silver. Cataloged as PCGS #90233. The Philippine Five Centavos followed the same design family as other Philippine denominations, struck at the Manila Mint (M mintmark), San Francisco (S), and Denver (D). Pre-war Manila Mint strikes are less common in high grade than U.S.-struck wartime issues.
